DELKUDEL Collaboration - Thematic Walk in Prishtina

DELKUDEL invites you to a thematic walk led by artists and researchers Renea Begolli and Anyla Kabashi, Saturday (13 December 2025) starting at 14:00.

This walk uncovers new materials on how artists initiated independent and self-organized cultural events after the war, exploring the history of interventions in off-spaces and performative practice in public spaces in Kosova.

You will have a chance to learn about events which have been put out of sight such as Ballkani i Ri (2000) and I kemi 12 orë (2004) that reconfigure the city as a site of memory and resistance in the absence of institutional infrastructures, and select artists' works through which bodies functioned as both medium and archive, negotiating questions of identity, trauma, and futurity.

The walk foregrounds the work of Zake Prelvukaj, Xhevdet Xhafa, and Charlie’s Angels, among others, to reflect on how performative art reclaimed public space, unsettled patriarchal and nationalist narratives, and inscribed new imaginaries in the urban landscapes of postwar Prishtina.

This walk is based on the facilitators' ongoing research for the forthcoming book, Body as an Archive: Performative Art Practices in Postwar Kosova, supported by the National Gallery of Kosovo.

Meeting point: In front of KEDS-Kesko building (Nënkalimi/California Burger Doner)

Locations: Santea, Zahir Pajaziti Square (2 stops), Palace of Youth and Sports
Duration of the walk: 1:30-2h

Suggested donation: 5-15€. DM to register.
