Hanging

The bodies in the artwork Hanging are arranged in the center of the space. They stand in defiance of the classical image of the Three Graces as passive symbols of beauty. The figures, though familiar in form, resist the conventions of gendered beauty, movement, and expression. Unlike the traditional Three Graces, who were celebrated for their physical beauty and grace, the figures embody a resistance to these narrow representations. Like the figures themselves, the material suggests an ongoing process of becoming, where the body, much like nature, is never static but continuously evolving.
